The little things you learn when you research history always amaze me. Tug Wilson was born in Atwood, Illinois in 1896. His wife, Dorothy was born in Lexington, Illinois. Both are buried in Lexington. Tug was a multi-sport athlete who played at the University of Illinois and participated in the 1920 Olympics. What other connection does the two towns have?

In 1980, the Atwood-Hammond Rajahs played the Minutemen of Lexington High School for the 1A state football championship. The Rajahs won 17-16.
